Trump imposed sanctions after Iran’s refusal to execute part of the nuclear deal

Restrictive measures affect the production of steel, aluminum, copper and iron in Iran. The decision on sanctions Washington adopted after Tehran’s refusal to fulfill certain obligations under the nuclear agreement.

US President Donald Trump signed a decree imposing sanctions on Iran. The document concerns the production of steel, aluminum, copper and iron in the Islamic Republic.

Restrictive measures are directed both against producers and owners of metal production in this country and against those who trade in Iranian metals. The US Treasury can block their assets in US jurisdiction. The decree states that the US policy is to deprive Iran of revenues from the export of metals that could Finance a nuclear weapons program.

Earlier, Iran sent a notification to Germany, Great Britain, China and Russia on the decision to “suspend the performance of certain obligations” in the framework of the so-called nuclear deal.
