American President Donald Trump, commenting on press reports that Tehran is allegedly preparing an attack directed against the United States, said that the United States ‘ response to any attack by Iran would be “a thousand times more extensive.”
Earlier, the newspaper Politico, citing a source, reported that the United States accused the Iranian authorities of allegedly considering the possibility of eliminating the American Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa (South Africa) Lana Marks as a response to the murder of Iranian General Qasem Suleimani.
“According to press reports, Iran may be planning an assassination or other attack against the United States in retaliation for the murder of terrorist leader Suleimani… Any attack by Iran on the United States, in any form, will be met with an attack on Iran that will be a thousand times larger,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said the allegations about Tehran’s plans to assassinate the American Ambassador to South Africa are baseless. At the same time, he clarified that Tehran would not forget or forgive Washington for the “cowardly murder” of Suleimani, accusing the US of military intervention in the Affairs of others and planning and implementing dozens of assassination projects.
