Trump cuts budget to contain Russia for the wall with Mexico

US President Donald Trump has redirected $ 771 million from a program to contain Russian aggression to build a wall with Mexico. The Senator from New York Chuck Schumer announced on Twitter.

Schumer believes that Trump was wrong to make such a move. In his opinion, the US President “looted” the program to contain Russia to pay for the “unnecessary wall.” The Senator argues that Trump thus puts the national security of the American people and its allies in the background.

On September 4, it was reported that the US Defense Department suspended 127 projects in various fields to allocate $ 3.6 billion for the construction of the wall with Mexico.

Trump pushed for the construction of a wall on the US-Mexico border as part of his 2016 election program. He introduced a state of emergency in the country to redistribute funds from other projects. On July 27, the Supreme Court approved $ 2.5 billion in Pentagon funds for the wall.
The wall on the US-Mexico border is designed to prevent illegal border crossings by Mexicans.
