The President said that national security should not be used as an “excuse” for complicating purchases of American goods by other countries.
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticized some of the proposed restrictions on trade with China, saying that national security cannot be used as an “excuse” to complicate the purchase of American goods by foreign countries.
“The United States cannot and will not be such a difficult country in terms of purchasing our goods by foreign countries, including under the ever – used pretext of national security, so that our companies are forced to leave to remain competitive,” Trump tweeted.
“I have seen some of the proposed restrictions, including those that Congress is considering, and they are ridiculous. I want it to be easy to do business with the US, not difficult,” he continued.
Trump did not specify which initiatives are in question.
