Trump: coronavirus won’t stop Easter

The President and first lady delivered a celebratory address.

US President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump congratulated Americans on Easter.

Noting that this year this holiday is celebrated at a difficult time for the country, they expressed the hope that it fills people with joy and love inherent in this “Holy day.”

“As our country has faced unique challenges with the coronavirus in the past few weeks, we turn to God for guidance, comfort, and hope,” the Trump family said in a statement.” during this difficult period, we have witnessed how the core tenets of Christianity – love, compassion, and kindness – are reflected in many acts of courage, compassion, and care shown by the American people.”

“A great many Americans selflessly respond to calls for help in their communities and take extraordinary steps to help others in difficult times,” the message continues.
The President and first lady noted the work of doctors who take care of patients, as well as volunteers, emergency workers and companies who have allocated time and resources to fight the virus.

“Regardless of the circumstances, we will always celebrate Easter as a time of renewal, rebirth and a new sense of meaning and faith,” the message reads. “The coronavirus won’t stop Easter. Even in the darkest hours, the abundant love and mercy of God are unchangeable. The light of Christ will always triumph over our trials and tribulations because it has overcome death.”
“Let’s take a little time today to pray for the strength of our country and our people,” Donald Trump and the first lady urged. – Let us rejoice together because we know that Christ is raised.”
