The decision to send US troops to the Middle East was the worst decision in the history of the country, President Donald Trump wrote on his Twitter page. According to Trump, the US should not have come to the Middle East.
“The United States has spent $ 8 trillion on military operations and policing in the Middle East. Thousands of our excellent soldiers were killed or wounded. Millions of people died on the side,” Trump wrote, recalling that the reason for the invasion of American troops in Iraq was later denied reports of the development of weapons of mass destruction there.
Trump also noted that fighting between different factions has continued in the Middle East for “hundreds of years” and the US did not need to intervene.
“Now, we are slowly and carefully returned to our brave soldiers and military equipment back home,” said Trump. “These stupid endless wars are over for us!”— added the President of the United States.
The United States joined the fight against the “Islamic state” in Syria in 2014; Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama made the corresponding decision. In neighboring Iraq, US troops invaded in 2003 to overthrow Saddam Hussein.
