Trump called interesting the idea of fighting for the chair of the speaker of the lower house of Congress

In April, the politician said that he was “seriously” considering the possibility of participating in the election race for the US presidency in 2024.

Former US President Donald Trump called the idea of competing for the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress in 2022 interesting.

Trump on Friday took part in a radio show hosted by a supporter of the far-right views of Wayne-Allyn Root. He reminded the former president of the proposal to join the fight for a seat in the lower house of Congress, which was announced in February by former Trump aide Stephen Bannon. “You could become the Speaker of the House of Representatives, lead the impeachment proceedings against [incumbent US President Democrat Joe] Biden, and launch a criminal investigation against him,” the host addressed Trump.

“It’s very, very interesting,” the former president said, as quoted by Newsweek magazine. At the same time, Trump stressed that some of his supporters would like to see him in the Senate of Congress. “But your idea may be better. This is very interesting,” the 45th US President concluded. In April, Trump said that he was “seriously” considering the possibility of participating in the election race for the US presidency in 2024. In March, the former president said that after the midterm elections in the country, which will be held in 2022, he intends to make a final decision on the possibility of again applying for the post of head of the US administration. Earlier, he also expressed confidence that the Republicans have a chance to regain control of both chambers of the US Congress following the results of the 2022 elections. On February 28, the former leader, during a speech at the conference of conservative circles of the United States in Orlando (Florida), admitted that he could again take part in the fight for the post of head of state.
