Trump became the favorite of the election race on the European betting exchange

Trump overtook Biden in the number of bets on the Betfair exchange.

US President Donald Trump overtook his democratic rival Joe Biden and became the favorite of the election race on the European betting exchange Betfair, the exchange said on Wednesday.
According to Betfair, based on a comparative analysis of the bets made, the chances of Trump are estimated as equal, and Biden’s figures are 21 to 20.

The exchange reported that four bets worth more than 10,000 pounds ($13,362) were placed on the platform overnight, three of which were placed on Trump, and last weekend the largest bid of the current campaign was made in his favor at 50,000 pounds.

These bets have partly helped Trump get into the lead, although earlier this week, they were level with Biden.

“In August, Trump had the worst re-election chances of any sitting President in history, and a Biden victory looked increasingly likely,” Betfair spokesman Darren Hughes said.

A Reuters / Ipsos national opinion poll on Wednesday showed that 40 percent of registered voters support Trump, and 47 percent support Biden.

Biden’s margin has remained virtually unchanged over the past three weeks, during which both sides have held conventions to nominate their candidates formally.
