Trump approved criminal charges against Maduro

US President Donald Trump said he agreed with the decision of the country’s Justice Ministry to file criminal charges against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

“That sounds about right… That these charges were brought is correct,” Trump said at a White House press conference.

Earlier, the US Department of Justice published charges against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the country’s leadership, claiming that they are involved in drug trafficking, for Maduro, the US authorities announced a reward of $ 15 million, for the rest of the country’s leadership, indicated in the charge, $ 10 million.

Maduro is charged with four counts: participating in a drug-terrorism conspiracy, conspiring to import cocaine into the United States, using and possessing machine guns and destructive devices as part of the said conspiracy, as well as conspiring to use such weapons.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza called the charges of drug trafficking and terrorism against the country’s former and current leaders “a new form of a coup” and linked the charges to the domestic situation in the United States.
