Trump announced the sending of an additional military contingent to the border with Mexico

The head of the White House said that the military will resist attempts to invade large caravans of illegal immigrants in the United States.
The US President Donald Trump announced the sending of an additional contingent of troops to the country’s border with Mexico to counter the influx of illegal immigrants. He wrote about this on Thursday on his Twitter page.

“Additional troops are sent to the southern border to stop an attempt to invade large caravans of illegal immigrants in our country,” the US President wrote. – We stopped the previous caravans and we will stop these as well. With the wall it will be much easier and not so expensive. Already building!”.
The Pentagon operation called “Faithful Patriot” to counter illegal migrants is carried out on the instructions of the President of the United States. On November 9,2018, he signed a decree ordering the denial of asylum to foreign citizens illegally crossing the border with Mexico. The reason for the decree is the need to stop all caravans of migrants moving towards the United States.

Currently, there are 5.6 thousand soldiers on the US-Mexican border, who provide support to the US customs officers. The White House allowed them to use force and, if necessary, to protect government officials from possible attacks by migrants. In mid-January, the US Department of defense extended the deadline for the deployment of the US troops on the border with Mexico until September 30, 2019 due to the migration crisis.
