American and French leaders Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron had a telephone conversation, the White House press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.
“They discussed the situation in Syria, cooperation within the G7, the state of trade negotiations between the US and the European Union”, FreeNews reported.
Earlier, Trump threatened the EU with the introduction of duties on imports of goods, if the countries do not agree to negotiate on trade.
In autumn 2018, the Committee on international trade of the European Parliament published a study in which it presented several options for the development of trade relations between the EU and the US.
The most likely and worst of them, as indicated, involves the preservation of the Trump administration duties on steel and aluminum, at the same time the announcement of the introduction of duties on cars and auto parts from the EU, as well as a further aggravation of trade disputes between the US and China.
