The dinner, which was also attended by translators and advisers of the leaders of the two countries, was held on the first day of negotiations after the tete-a-tete meeting. According to the schedule, it was allotted an hour and a half. The summit takes place at the Metropole hotel.
Politico notes that the dinner really lasted less than two hours, “was quick,” as Trump and Kim Jong-UN need time to prepare for the second day of the summit.
The menu consisted of four courses: shrimp cocktail with avocado and lemon, Sirloin steak – beef fillet with kimchi and pear, cake “Chocolate lava” with berries and vanilla ice cream, and punch from dried persimmon with honey.
On the first day of the talks, Ttrump called Kim Jong-UN a friend, and the Korean leader said that he was waiting for productive negotiations with a real result. This is the second meeting of the US and North Korean leaders. The first summit was held last June in Singapore. As a result, the parties signed a joint Declaration in which Pyongyang committed itself to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in exchange for guarantees of security on the part of Washington.
However, since the last meeting, the parties have shown no signs that their negotiation process resulted in some progress in the framework of the denuclearization of the DPRK. Even Trump himself, although he declares the need for complete and irreversible denuclearization, is not ready to put strict deadlines to Pyongyang.
