Trump adviser to visit UK for trade talks in January

Deputy Assistant to the President for national security Matt Pottinger will accompany him.

The head of the national economic Council of the White house Lawrence Kudlow intends to visit the UK in early January 2020 for talks on trade and economic issues.

According to Kudlow, representatives of the US and Britain plan to discuss “many things, including trade.” He added that work on a possible trade deal from the American side should begin soon.

During the visit, Deputy Assistant to the US President for national security Matt Pottinger will accompany the adviser.

Earlier, the leaders of the two countries have repeatedly stated their intention to conclude a free trade agreement after the United Kingdom leaves the EU. After the December 12 parliamentary elections in Britain, US President Donald Trump said that, the victory of the Conservative party of Prime Minister Boris Johnson will allow the two countries to conclude such a deal.
