Trump advised China not to delay the trade deal

The US President Donald Trump advised the Chinese authorities to conclude a trade deal without waiting for the elections in 2020. The American leader wrote about it in his Twitter account.

According to Trump, the Chinese authorities feel that they lost in the last negotiations, so they hope to wait for the US presidential election in 2020 and continue to “rob” America of $ 500 billion a year in case of the victory of the Democratic candidate.

“The only problem is that they know I’m going to win (the best economic and employment figures in US history and more),” Trump said.

If negotiations on the deal are conducted during his second presidential term, this agreement will be much worse for China, so it would be reasonable for Beijing to act now, the US President concluded.

On May 11, it became known that Trump decided to increase duties on goods from China by $ 300 billion.

On May 9, US President accused China of disrupting the deal. “They broke the deal. They can’t do that. So they will be forced to pay. We will increase duties and will not step back,” he said.

The trade war between the two countries began in January 2018 with the introduction by Washington of duties on washing machines and solar panels. In December 2018, the parties agreed not to introduce new duties until March.
