Earlier on Saturday, a record increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus in the country was reported.
US President Donald Trump believes that media representatives are trying to cause fear among Americans regarding the outbreak of coronavirus in the country ahead of the presidential election scheduled for November 3.
“Fake news talks about cases, cases, cases (of coronavirus infection). This news also includes a lot of people with a low risk of infection. The media is doing everything possible to cause fear before November 3,” the White House’s current head wrote on his Twitter page.
Trump also noted that the increase in infection rates in the country is associated with an increase in the number of tests performed. “Mortality [due to coronavirus] is reduced by more than 85%,” he added.
Earlier on Saturday, a record increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus was reported; 83,757 new infection cases were detected in the country. According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 8.5 million infection cases have been recorded in the United States, and more than 224,000 people have died. The country ranks first in the world in both indicators.
