The UK’s Shepton Mallet prison, once home to notorious murderers, is now open to tourists, according to The Sun.
You can spend a night in it for 50 pounds.
Guests will be offered a “tour with ghosts” conducted by paranormal researchers. The most famous story is about a White Lady who is rumored to have killed her lover, for which she was sentenced to death. She asked permission to wear a wedding dress to the execution, but was found dead the next morning.
They also promise complete immersion in the life of prisoners — with oatmeal for Breakfast and overnight in a locked cell.
This prison was opened in 1626. In 1945, a man was hanged in it for the last time. During World War II, it was used as a military base by both the British and American armed forces. 18 American service members were executed there between 1943 and 1945. In 2013, it closed to prisoners.
According to the publication, all nights in February 2021 are already sold out, but there is a chance to go to prison in March or April.
