Last August, Creative Assembly and Sega released Total War Saga: Troy. The game only appeared on the Epic Games Store, which received a temporary exclusive sale period. This period has already expired and Total War Saga: Troy will appear on Steam on September 2. At one time, the creators approached the premiere of the game in an unusual way, giving it away for free within the first 24 hours after release. This resulted in huge interest from strategy enthusiasts and 7.5 million downloads.
Creative Assembly explained that this unprecedented step is being taken to attract new players to the popular series, and said it has no intention of publishing other games to the Epic Games Store. For Steam users, however, the game won’t be free even in the beginning.
The following addition to the game has also been announced: Mythos, the largest expansion to date. The new DLC will feature a completely new campaign in which you will meet incredible animals, learn new spells and similar fantasy elements.
Players will be able to replenish their armies with powerful assistants in the person of Hydra, Griffon and Cerberus. Each of these creatures will have their own set of special powers and abilities, and will be accompanied by legions of their admirers.
If you are not addicted to mythology and fantasy elements, do not be discouraged. Creative Assembly announced that a free update for the game will be released along with Mythos, which removes all mythological elements. Battles will be led by “real” generals and their assistants.
