To compete with Clubhouse, Instagram will add audio rooms to the app

Against the background of the growing popularity of Clubhouse, many social networks have begun to prepare similar opportunities in their platforms. Looks like Instagram will be no exception.

Recently, the developers added Live Rooms group video calls to the program, and now they are working on the Live Audio Rooms feature. This was announced by dataminer Alessandro Paluzzi on Twitter. The new feature will allow users to conduct live audio conferencing. The insider, unfortunately, did not disclose the release dates and capabilities of Live Audio Rooms.

By the way, in addition to Live Audio Rooms, Instagram developers will soon add end-to-end encryption in chats (E2EE). Thanks to this, attackers will not be able to read user messages, even if they gain access to the correspondence. Like Live Audio Rooms, the feature is still in testing.
