These included, among others, Facebook and Twitter, as well as TikTok, Zoom, and Clubhouse.
For the first time, Time magazine has compiled a list of the 100 most influential companies: leading social networks, technology corporations, pharmaceutical giants, and streaming services. The rating was published on the magazine’s website on Tuesday.
The list was formed depending on “which companies determine the future.” “This question is at the heart of the first list of the 100 most influential companies according to Time,” the publication notes. “As a result, we have received a diverse list of 100 companies, ranging from technology startups that develop advanced methods for switching to cryptocurrencies, rethinking the future of money, and ending with pharmaceutical titans who create vaccines for tomorrow and today,” the authors point out.
Among the most influential companies, according to Time, are Facebook and Twitter, which have long taken leading positions in the social media market, and TikTok, Zoom, and Clubhouse, which have gained popularity in recent years. As expected, such major American technology companies as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon were reflected in the rating. They were included in the list of Tesla and SpaceX entrepreneur Elon Musk.
The magazine included China’s Alibaba and Huawei, Japan’s Sony Group, South Korea’s Samsung, the US streaming video service Netflix, Swedish music platform Spotify, and the Disney film studio.
In the context of the pandemic, the compilers of the rating could not ignore the pharmaceutical companies that develop and produce vaccines against the new coronavirus. Therefore, the list of 100 influential companies includes American Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and the American-German consortium Pfizer and BioNTech. The rating includes companies working in the fields of energy, finance, logistics, manufacturers of toys, furniture, sports equipment, and many others.
