The death toll from pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus 2019-nCoV, in the city of Wuhan (Hubei province, Central China) has increased to three. As the Municipal Health Committee reported on Monday, the total number of infected people has increased to 198.
According to doctors, on January 18, 59 new cases of the disease and one fatal outcome were recorded. On January 19, 77 new cases were identified.
It is reported that among the patients 66 men and 70 women. The youngest patient is 25 years old; the oldest is 89 years old. It is noted that the first symptoms — fever, cough and a feeling of tightness the chest-were manifested in patients before January 18.
“As of 22.00 on January 19, 198 cases of pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus were recorded in the city of Wuhan. Of these, 25 have already been discharged from the hospital, three have died, and 170 are being treated in medical institutions. The condition of 35 is assessed as severe, nine people are in critical condition, and 126 patients have a mild form of the disease,” the Committee said in a statement.
Currently, the number of people who had close contact with the infected has reached 817. Of these, 727 have already been removed from medical supervision, and 90 remain under the supervision of doctors. They showed no symptoms of the disease.
