The XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo are declared closed

The President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, has declared the XXXII Summer Olympic Games closed, the flame of the 2020 Olympics has been extinguished.

The Olympic Games were held from July 23 to August 8 in the Japanese capital. Athletes from 205 National Olympic Committees and a refugee team took part in the 2020 Games; a new record of the Games was set in Tokyo-93 athletes won at least one medal.

The Russian national team, which performed due to the sanctions of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in the status of the team of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), won 71 awards at and took fifth place in the medal standings.  The US team won the competition (39-41-33). The Chinese took second place (38-32-18), while the Japanese took third place (27-14-17).
