The world’s largest cargo plane has joined the fight against the pandemic

The world’s largest cargo plane, the An-225 “Mriya,” has joined the fight against the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. According to the Ukrainian state enterprise “Antonov,” which owns the aircraft, the plane was connected to the transportation of humanitarian goods from China to European countries. We are talking about the transport of medical supplies to fight a coronavirus infection.

It is reported that today, April 11, An-225 “Mriya” took off from Kyiv on its first commercial flight after maintenance and modernization. It became the sixth Antonov Airlines plane involved in transporting cargo to fight COVID-19. The other five aircraft are An- 124-100 “Ruslan,” which operate part of these flights under the SALIS strategic air cargo program for the benefit of NATO and the EU.

According to the Worldometers portal on April 11, more than 1.7 million cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the world, and more than 105 thousand people have died.
