The withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan is completed by 16-25 percent

Earlier, President Biden promised to fully withdraw troops by September 11.

The US military estimates that it has completed up to a quarter of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“The US Central Command estimates that the withdrawal process is 16-25 percent complete,” the command overseeing operations in Afghanistan said on Tuesday.

The command noted that about 160 C-17 transport planes loaded with materials took off from Afghanistan, and more than 10 thousand pieces of equipment were transferred to the Logistics Support Department. US President Joe Biden announced in April that US troops would leave Afghanistan by September 11, almost 20 years after the start of military intervention in the war-torn country.
