‘The Witcher’ second season may not be released until August 2021

According to the resource Redanian Intelligence, the creation of the second season of the fantasy series “The Witcher” should resume no earlier than February 2021. Such an impressive break in work has become inevitable due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the source, the next stage of production will take place in the winter, including the shooting of the remaining material. At least that’s the plan for now.

Before the coronavirus outbreak, Netflix planned to shoot the second season of The Witcher in five and a half months (February-August 2020), but the work had to be interrupted after five weeks. In the changed circumstances, the production will stretch for eight months, in connection with which the producers have significantly revised the work schedule.

Based on the available information, you can calculate when it is worth waiting for the premiere of the second season of The Witcher. It is known that the company Platige Image, which is responsible for the preparation of visual effects, expects to complete its part of the work on The Witcher by July 2021. Considering that the installation of the first season took about seven months, it can be assumed that the release of new episodes will take place in August 2021.
