The Defense Department will review the administration’s request for about two weeks.
The Pentagon has received a new request from the Trump administration to build about 435 km of fencing on the US border with Mexico. The white house also asked the military to assess the cost and feasibility of this construction. A senior official of the Ministry of defense stated this.
This message from the Pentagon may displease Democrats in Congress, who oppose Donald Trump’s attempts to spend billions of dollars on defense to fulfill a promise he made in 2016 and build a wall on the border with Mexico.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the Pentagon would consider the administration’s request for about another two weeks. He added that previous requests from the Department of homeland security to build the fence were only partially met by the Pentagon.
