The US will soon take significant new measures against the PRC about Hong Kong, as it proceeds from the fact that China “annexed” Hong Kong, said US national security adviser Robert O’Brien.
“In the coming days and weeks, you will see a significant series of measures against China,” O’Brien told reporters at the presidential pool.
“The President (Donald Trump) has already stated that Hong Kong will no longer be treated as a separate entity; it will be treated as part of China. There will be a certain number of regulations and some actions that will be implemented to implement this concept of the President,” he added.
“Hong Kong has been de facto annexed by the PRC, the Communist Party of China, and they are imposing their will on the free democratic people,” O’Brien said
The US has already taken some actions, including restricting the supply of military technology and visa restrictions, in response to China’s introduction of new national security law in Hong Kong.
