The US temporarily withdrew troops from Libya

The African command of the US Armed forces announced the decision to temporarily withdraw its troops from Libya due to the aggravation of the situation in the country. This was reported by the US military on their Twitter page.

“The contingent of the US armed forces supporting the African command, temporarily relocated from Libya in response to deteriorating security conditions. We will continue to monitor the situation on the ground and assess the possibility of resuming the US military presence, depending on the circumstances”, the statement said.

“The situation in Libya is becoming more complex and unpredictable”, said the head of the African command Thomas Wildhauser.

Recall that the situation in Libya has recently deteriorated sharply. The commander of the Libyan national army, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, has announced the beginning of an attack on Tripoli to displace the government of national accord led by Fayez Sarradj, which he considers terrorist.
