The US Secretary of State discussed the situation around the DPRK with the South Korean Foreign Minister

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the situation around the DPRK and possible humanitarian initiatives on the Korean peninsula with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Chung Eui-yong. This is stated in a written statement issued by the head of the press service of the State Department, Ned Price.

“The Secretary of State and the Foreign Minister reaffirmed their commitment to complete denuclearization and the establishment of permanent peace on the Korean peninsula, the Secretary of State confirmed the US support for inter-Korean dialogue and interaction,” the text says.

“The Secretary of State and the Foreign Minister also discussed the latest developments in the DPRK and agreed to study humanitarian initiatives on the Korean peninsula,” Price added.
