The US said it is not against humanitarian aid to Venezuela from Russia

The United States is not opposed to Russia providing humanitarian assistance to Venezuela — but not through the current authorities led by President Nicolas Maduro. This was stated by the US special representative for Venezuela Elliott Abrams.

“We are not against humanitarian aid,” — said Abrams.

However, according to him, the Venezuelan authorities “corrupt sold” humanitarian aid and used it “as a political weapon”.

“This applies to any assistance to the regime,” the diplomat said.

Earlier, the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, called the farce of the century the situation with the delivery of American humanitarian aid to the Bolivarian Republic.
