The US national debt reached a historic high

The US public debt topped $ 22 trillion for the first time, setting a historic record. This is indicated on the website of the US Treasury.

By February 11, 2019, the US national debt amounted to 22,012 trillion dollars. Since the beginning of the month, this figure has increased by more than $ 90 billion.

According to the publication FREE NEWS, the US national debt is growing at the fastest pace during the President Donald Trump, including because of his tax reform. About one and a half trillion dollars were allocated for its implementation from the budget of the United States.

In January, it was reported that during the reign of Donald trump, the US public debt increased by two trillion dollars and reached a maximum over the past 70 years. According to the forecasts of the Congress, by 2028 the debt will reach 96 percent of GDP, if the situation does not change.

During the 2016 election campaign, Trump promised to get rid of public debt in eight years. The amount of debt began to decline in early 2017, but then began to grow again.
