The US intends to curtail the production of components for the F-35 in Turkey

WASHINGTON – Production in Turkey of components for the fifth-generation fighter-bomber F-35 is scheduled to be curtailed by the end of March 2020, while it is about the return of Ankara to the f-35 program is not currently underway. On Friday at a briefing for journalists, the Deputy Secretary of defense for procurement and logistics Ellen Lord reported.

“As for Turkey and the F-35, there has been no change in terms of Turkey’s return to the F-35 production program,” she said. “Turkey still produces 900 components for the F-35 and will continue to do so until the production line, for which Turkey is responsible, will not be transferred at the end of March 2020,” added Lord.
