The US increases financial aid to Ukraine to fight coronavirus

The United States of America has increased financial assistance to Ukraine to fight the coronavirus by $ 1.8 million, and its full volume will be $ 17.3 million, the US Embassy in Kyiv said on Tuesday on its Facebook page.

Earlier, the American Embassy in Kyiv reported that the United States would provide Ukraine with funding of 15.5 million dollars to fight COVID-19.

“Earlier this month, the US announced an increase in COVID-19-related funding for Ukraine from $ 15.5 million to almost $ 17.3 million,” the report said.

According to the Embassy, an additional 1.8 million dollars will be allocated to support the activities of the international organization for migration in Ukraine, assistance to internally displaced persons, and other categories of the population affected by the conflict in the Donbas.

The Embassy said that additional funding would help prevent the spread of the coronavirus by providing humanitarian assistance, support for isolation sites, and treatment centers.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that 54,771 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in the country, 1,412 people died, and 27,154 people recovered.
