The Chairman of the government of Chechnya Muslim Huchiev came under US sanctions. This was announced by the US Department of state.
He was blacklisted because of allegations of human rights violations. “The state Department has reliable information that Muslim Huchiev participated in the torture,” the report said. However, no evidence is provided. As noted, the policy and his wife Sapiyat Shabazova banned entry into American territory.
The state Department also noted the report submitted in accordance with the Moscow mechanism of the OSCE. The authors concluded “Chechen government officials committed serious, prolonged human rights violations” and were not punished, the Agency writes.
The ban is associated with the budget article for 2019, which requires such steps to be taken against foreign officials who, according to the United States, violate human rights.
