The US has returned some of the money that Colonial Pipeline paid to hackers

The US authorities managed to return part of the ransom that the pipeline operator Colonial paid to hackers, CNN reports.

The company admitted that it paid the ransom to the hackers, but did not say how much. The media reported that it was about $ 4 million.

At the same time, it was possible to return “millions of dollars” in cryptocurrency from this amount, the TV channel reports. This is a rare case since calculations of this kind are usually anonymous and irreversible. How the ransom was returned, the TV channel does not specify.
