The US has published a national strategy to combat “domestic terrorism”

The administration of US President Joe Biden has published the first national strategy to combat “domestic terrorism.”

“The Biden administration is releasing the first national strategy to combat domestic terrorism, aimed at addressing this threat to America’s national security and improving the federal government’s response,” the White House said in a release posted on its official website.

“President Biden has instructed his National Security team to conduct… review of the US government’s measures to address domestic terrorism, which has become the most urgent terrorist threat to the United States,” reads the release published on the official website of the White House.

The US State Department will study the possibility of recognizing as terrorist foreign organizations suspected in the country in connection with acts of “domestic terrorism,” according to a statement on the White House website.

“The State Department will continue to examine whether additional foreign organizations associated with domestic terrorism are classified as foreign terrorist organizations or as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGT) in accordance with established criteria,” the press release notes.
