The US has imposed sanctions against several Chinese citizens and organizations

Washington accuses them of violating the restrictions imposed against Iran.

The US is imposing new sanctions on some Chinese individuals and entities, whom it accuses of knowingly transporting oil from Iran in violation of Washington’s restrictions on Iran.

US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo stated.

The US Treasury Department announced sanctions against five Chinese citizens and six organizations, including two subsidiaries of the shipping company Cosco Shipping Corporation.

“We say to China and all countries: know that we will impose sanctions for every violation,” Pompeo said at a conference on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

China’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday condemned the decision.

“We have always opposed the so-called long-arm jurisdiction and unilateral sanctions,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said.
“We also oppose the American practice of intimidation,” he added.
