Earlier, the publication Politico, citing sources, reported that against the background of Russian military exercises, the United States was preparing to give Ukraine $ 100 million in additional assistance, but refused to do so on the eve of the US – Russia summit.
“The idea that we have suspended security assistance to Ukraine is nonsense. Just last week, before the US – Russia summit, we provided a $ 150 million package of security assistance, including weapons,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in a written statement.
According to her, at the moment, Ukraine has been fully allocated the assistance planned by Congress.
“We have also prepared funds in the event of a further Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Psaki said, without specifying the amounts in question. The Russian side has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict and is interested in Kyiv overcoming the political and economic crisis.
