The US has blacklisted seven Chinese technology companies

According to the Ministry of Commerce, they are involved in creating supercomputers for the Chinese military.

On Thursday, the US Department of Commerce said it was blacklisting seven Chinese companies and laboratories involved in supercomputers production. The restrictions are imposed because these enterprises cooperate with the Chinese armed forces.

The following entities are listed: Tianjin Phytium Information Technology, Shanghai High-Performance Integrated Circuit Design Center, Sunway Microelectronics, National Supercomputing Center in Jinan, National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen, National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi, and National Supercomputing Center in Zhengzhou.

The Commerce Department said they are involved in building supercomputers used by the Chinese military.
