The US has banned passenger flights over Iraq and Iran

The Federal aviation administration of the United States (FAA) reported restrictions on flights of American passenger aircraft over most of the Middle East.

“Flight restrictions have been imposed that prohibit US civil aviation operators from operating in the airspace over Iraq, Iran, and the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman,” the FAA said on Twitter. The office continues to coordinate with national security partners and exchange information with foreign civil aviation authorities and US carriers.
