The US Embassy in Kabul urged Americans to leave Afghanistan

The US Embassy in Kabul has called on American citizens to leave Afghanistan immediately due to the unsafe situation, according to a statement from the embassy.

“The US Embassy calls on American citizens to leave Afghanistan immediately, using available commercial flights. Given the security conditions and reduced staff, the embassy’s ability to assist US citizens in Afghanistan is minimal, even in Kabul,” the statement said.

It is noted that the embassy is ready to provide a loan for citizens who currently do not have the opportunity to buy tickets for a commercial flight to the United States.

The embassy also recommended that citizens register in the STEP (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) program to receive updates on the security situation and so that the embassy can contact them in emergency cases. In the case of a future official export flight, the embassy will notify the program participants about this.
