The acting Deputy Minister of internal security of the United States Claire Grady submitted his resignation. This was reported by the former head of the Department Kirstjen Nielsen.
“Acting Deputy Minister Claire Grady has submitted her resignation to the President starting tomorrow”, she wrote on Twitter.
This is the second high-profile dismissal in the Ministry. It can lead to further destabilization of the situation in the Department, charged with administering the immigration and the borders of the United States.
Earlier, the Secretary of homeland security of the United States Kirstjen Nielsen said she agreed to resign in order to ensure a “smooth transition”.
Kevin McAleenan has been appointed acting head of the Department.
