The US Congress approved a resolution on Syria

The House of Representatives of the US Congress approved a resolution on Syria. The document was introduced by Republican Brian Mest.

The resolution called on politicians to strive for a sustainable political transition in Syria, as well as to develop a strategy to prevent the permanent presence of Iran in Syria. At the same time, it is noted that Russia “proved to be an unreliable partner to facilitate these efforts.”

The resolution States that the Syrian authorities, with the support of Russia and Iran, allegedly attacked humanitarian aid workers, prevented the movement of humanitarian personnel, and used chemical weapons.

“The US House of Representatives condemns the Assad regime, the government of Russia and Iran, Hezbollah and other Iranian — backed paramilitary groups for their continued support for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Syria, “the document read RT.

It is noted that as long as the regime of Bashar al-Assad is in power, Russia “will continue to expand its influence in the middle East.”

On December 12, foreign Ministers of Russia and Iran Sergey Lavrov and Javad Zarif held telephone talks, during which they discussed the settlement of the Syrian crisis.

The Russian delegation also met with Bashar al-Assad to launch the work of the constitutional Committee in accordance with the decisions of the UN Security Council and the Congress of the Syrian national dialogue.

As previously stated in the Russian defense Ministry, under the control of the Syrian government troops is 95% of the country. With the support of the Russian armed forces managed to defeat completely the gangs of the “Islamic state”*.
