The US can buy shares of energy companies

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin: “We are considering all possible alternatives”.

The US Federal authorities allow the possibility of buying up shares of energy companies that are in a difficult situation. This was stated by US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

US President Donald Trump, who spoke with Mnuchin at the White House, said he intended to help the industry. He suggested that Federal authorities could buy fuel, as well as buy air tickets to meet needs that will arise in the future. Mnuchin added: “We are considering all possible alternatives.”

The US energy sector has been severely affected by falling energy prices and the pandemic.

President Trump said that to stabilize world prices, Saudi Arabia and Russia should reduce oil production, as Canada is currently doing, as well as the States of Texas, Oklahoma, and North Dakota.
