The US Attorney General commented on the charges against Maduro

The United States will consider all options for detaining Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and others who were charged by the Justice Department on Thursday with involvement in drug trafficking, Department head William Barr told reporters.

Earlier, the Justice Ministry announced charges against Maduro and 14 other current Venezuelan officials for “drug terrorism, corruption, and drug trafficking.”

“We do expect to eventually detain these accused, and we will explore all options… Some of them go, it can provide us with an opportunity,” he said.
