The humanitarian truce in Nagorno-Karabakh will take effect on October 26 at 08: 00, the US State Department reports.
“The United States facilitated intensive negotiations between the Foreign Ministers and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to bring Armenia and Azerbaijan closer to a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” the Ministry said in a statement.
The parties made the first attempt to conclude a truce on the night of October 10 at consultations in Moscow. The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan were invited to the Russian capital by President Vladimir Putin. Following the meeting, Baku and Yerevan agreed to a cease-fire from 12: 00 on October 10 to exchange prisoners and bodies of the dead. However, almost immediately, the parties began to accuse each other of violating the agreements.
On the night of October 18, participants in the conflict also tried to organize a humanitarian truce. The second attempt also failed.
