The US Ambassador to Germany said that he would not lead the national intelligence Service

According to him, US President Donald Trump will soon name a real candidate.

The US Ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, said that he will not lead National intelligence permanently. The diplomat posted the corresponding entry on Twitter on Thursday.
“President [US President Donald Trump] will soon announce the nominee (not me),” Grenell wrote.

Earlier on Thursday, US President Donald Trump said he would appoint Grenell as acting Director of National intelligence. According to the DPA Agency, Grenell will retain the position of US Ambassador to Germany. He is expected to return to Berlin “in a few months” when the nomination for Director of National Intelligence is approved by the US Senate.

Grenell will replace Joseph McGuire, who has been acting Director of National intelligence since the resignation of Daniel Coates last summer. The Director of National Intelligence is considered the coordinator of all 16 US intelligence agencies.
