US Vice President Kamala Harris announced an additional $ 310 million in a virtual meeting with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei.

The White House said the US government supports providing humanitarian assistance and addressing food insecurity in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

The two leaders also “agreed to open migrant resource centers in Guatemala to provide services to people seeking legal migration routes, as well as those in need of protection, asylum, and refugee resettlement,” the White House said.
