The United States once again expressed support for Ukraine’s desire to join NATO

At the same time, the White House press secretary stressed that the North Atlantic Alliance should decide on this matter.

Ukraine has long sought to join NATO, and the Biden administration has been discussing these aspirations with it for a long time, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said during an April 6 press briefing.

“We strongly support them, we stand with them… but NATO must make the decision,” the White House spokeswoman said.

She stressed that the United States is attentive to the interests of Ukraine.

Recalling the unwavering position of Washington on the issue of support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, Psaki stated that the US administration is concerned about the violations of the ceasefire regime in the eastern part of this country.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg that the path to his country’s membership in NATO is the only path leading to an end to the war in eastern Ukraine.
