The United States intends to allocate funds to strengthen democracy in Turkey

The US State Department intends to allocate grants for 5 to 50 thousand dollars to implement projects in the field of strengthening democracy in Turkey.

The funds will be allocated for projects aimed at strengthening common security, promoting the economic prosperity of the parties, developing democratic values in Turkey, and partnership relations between Washington and Ankara.

It is expected that the grants will be awarded to initiatives to develop measures to combat terrorism, support entrepreneurship and innovation, expand the capabilities of the Turkish media, establish personal and commercial ties between the peoples of the United States and Turkey, as well as support the rights of the LGBT community in the latter of these countries.

The size of the total budget allocated under the new American initiative is not specified.
