The United States declared aggression against Ukraine in the Black Sea

Ukraine is subjected to constant aggressive actions in the Black Sea. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated this during a high-level meeting of the UN Security Council on maritime security.

“Dangerous actions at sea and in the air, the arrest of ships violate trade and access to energy,” the head of the State Department said, without giving specific examples of aggression directed against Ukraine. Blinken recalled that the US position is to support the integrity of the Ukrainian state, including in its territorial waters. According to the diplomat, attempts to violate this integrity are contrary to the UN guidelines.

On August 5, 2021, large-scale NATO exercises began in the Ukrainian territorial waters in the Black Sea. Ukraine, the United States, Bulgaria, Romania, and military personnel from Georgia and Azerbaijan are taking part in them. The Russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the military exercises, said that the Black Sea is turning into a zone of dangerous confrontation.
